Brother Ali

An albino rapper with Soul like Otis. When Ali's career began to blossom, he began to field questions about his race. Due to his stage name (a common reference among religious communities, particularly Muslims), many writers assumed Ali was black. When questioned on the subject, Ali declined to comment however stating in his album, "The Undisputed Truth"; "they ask me if I'm black or white, I'm neither/ race is a made up thing; I don't believe in it". He then goes on to explain how black people have played a major role in his life:

"My genes tie me to those that despised me/ Made a living killing the ones that inspired me/ I ain't just talking about singing and dancing/ I was taught life and manhood by black men/ So I'm a product of that understanding/ And a small part of me feels like I am them"

Wishing On a Star

The lyrics concern a woman longing for the return of an ex-lover so that they can resume their relationship. The original version from Rose Royce of "Wishing on a Star" was not a big hit, peaking at number fifty-two on the Billboard top 100. The versions from Jay-z, the Cover Girls and Beyonce were much more bigger hits. But this version is personally think is the nicest, Paul Weller sings this with his heart.

The best hiphop version is Masta Ace 'Beautiful' I think from all the wake up songs I had this one woke me up for more than a year. Its really 'Beautiful'.

I Forgot to be your lover

This song from William Bell used to be one of my wake-up songs. His voice and the guitar makes it a real classic. This song is sampled many times by different artist:

Back for some bloggin. This blog is my music jukebox, the songs that I post are songs that I like and songs that are reflection of my feelings. Music represent memories and feelings, sounds  quite personal, but I want to share these things with people like me. People who love music, people with real feelings.

Crown Holderz

Muziek maken is heerlijk vooral als het eindproduct goed gelukt is en het je verwachting overtreft. Ik had deze track in eerste instantie gemaakt voor een Nederlandstalige rapper, hij vond de beat niet zo. Waar ik hem dankbaar voor ben, uiteindelijk heeft King David van Vendetta Kingz namelijk de beat geblessed en er een classic van gemaakt.

Evidence - Same Folks feat. Fashawn

Same Folks is a song from Evidence (born December 10, 1976 in Los Angeles, California), an American hip hop artist, producer, and member of the rap group Dilated Peoples. I love this song and video, reminds me of walking in New York on the crowded streets. On every streetcorner there are rappers and producers who try to sell there music. If you ask them to rhyme they will not hesitate, thats there way to get 10 dollar for there album. Those rappers are real 'hustlers', not by doing criminal stuff like selling drugs, but by selling music. 

The Weeknd - What You Need

The Weeknd is a Toronto-based singer named Abel Tesfaye.  His music is mellow Indy R&B that brings you to a dreamworld. The right music before bedtime.

This is one of the saddest, but also one of the most beautiful duet songs ever. I get chills every single time I listen to it. Damien Rice and Lisa put so much pain and beauty in this song. I listened to this song on and on.

I remember really hating this guy as a Cypress and Public Enemy fan. But I lie when I say I didn't dance on this song on parties. This performance is actually good the old and the new one. 

The old one is like Justin Timberlake live rappin and dancing. Word to ya motha!

All I want is you 'live'

Miguel is a R&B artist that really stands out from all the slick Bobby's and Treysongerz. Especially lyrically and music wise. In his performances you really see the influence of Prince and D'Angelo. I knew him from choruses from rap songs with Blu & Exile, Raekwon and Asther Roth. After I checked his stunning debut album 'All I want is you' and his mix-tape 'Misschief' he became definitely one of my top 10 modern R&B artists.
